I have often been asked if we stock low cost barcode scanners like the
ones sometimes seen in those cut price computer catalogs which
seem to come with the mail every other day.
Until recently my answer was No. Naturally I have looked at
these scanners but to my critical eye there has always been some problem.
Either the hardware build quality has been flaky— or the decoding software has
been quirky— or the manufacturers support has been shaky.
This scanner is different. It is well made and well supported. OK so it doesn't
have all the fancy programming features of some better known makes but frankly
most people don't need 'em.
Of course this scanner will not always be the best choice. For some
specialised uses there are more appropriate scanners.
Libraries in the UK often use unusual or non standard symbologies
or programming. Some critical healthcare applications need the assurance only a well
established manufacturer can provide. Some high throughput applications will need
a more aggressive scanner... etc. etc.
However most general barcode scanning applications are well met by this scanner.
In terms of price and performance it is hard to beat - it carries my personal recommendation.

requirements for your particular application.

The USB scanners are simple to install there is no driver needed and you do not need
to open the PC case. Just plug into a vacant USB connector and wait a moment for the Windows
installer to complete. The Scanner configures itself as a HID device and acts like
a second keyboard.
We preconfigure the scanner to append a carriage return code to the scanned data which
most applications need. A programming manual is provided with every order so you can
esily alter the default configuration by scanning special barcodes. Help is available if you need it.
